Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe in villager trading
This is the priciest item on the Toolsmith's whole sheet, 18 to 32 emeralds, and the last one his ladder unlocks. Everything else he sells, a Toolsmith can offer partway up his climb. The pickaxe waits until the very top.
It is also the one most worth that wait. Fortune and Silk Touch are the two enchantments every ore farm cares about, and a villager pickaxe can arrive holding either one already, no mining a fresh diamond and no burning levels at an enchanting table first. For a player planning to strip-mine or quarry seriously, this is the single most useful roll on the Toolsmith's shelf.
Whatever enchantment it carries is set the moment that villager last restocked, and it arrives finished, ready to swing.

Your odds of finding Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe
The 100% in the table below is less a hunt than a checkpoint. A master Toolsmith shows his whole tier at once, the pickaxe included, so any villager who climbs that far has it on his sheet. The actual gamble is which enchantment landed on it, not whether the offer exists.
| Villager | Tier | Villagers with this offer | Rolls to see it | Most from one villager | After a cure |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toolsmith | Master | 100% (1 in 1)same in Bedrock | none, it is always there | 6 enchanted diamond pickaxe a day2 restocks a day | 1 emeraldwas 18, 17 off |
The chance is the draw size over the pool size in the game's own trade set file for that tier. The Bedrock line under it is the same sum on Bedrock's own table, which splits a tier into groups and draws out of each one separately, so the two editions often disagree. The day figure is the trade's use limit times the 2 restocks a villager is allowed per in-game day (Villager.allowedToRestock), so it is a ceiling and not an average: it assumes you are there for every restock. The cure column is 125 reputation times the trade's own multiplier, floored, and never takes a cost below one. Counted from the game's own draw sizes. How that check works.
Who trades Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe, and at what price
Only the Toolsmith sells it, and only at master, the top of his ladder. The price runs 18 to 32 emeralds, the highest he asks for anything, set by whatever enchantment the game attached when he last restocked.
Is trading Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe worth it?
Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe sells for anywhere between 18 and 32 emeralds, from the Toolsmith at the Master tier, and 10 of the other 11 cost less. That is a rolled price rather than a fixed one, so the Toolsmith you happen to find matters more than the tier does.

What 18 emeralds cost in goods
The Toolsmith at its master tier asks 18 emeralds for an enchanted diamond pickaxe, on its cheapest roll. 8 of the 72 villagers that pay emeralds, emptied out:
| A full slot of | To | Emeralds | Buys |
|---|---|---|---|
| expert Toolsmith | |||
| apprentice Toolsmith | |||
| master Fisherman | |||

| 256 diorite | journeyman Mason | ||

18 diamonds against 468 flint for the same 18 emeralds, 26 times the carrying, and the shortest wait is the Butcher at 11.3 real minutes of shelf, gathering not counted.
How Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe trading works
A smithing table next to an unemployed villager claims the Toolsmith job for him. Reaching master from there means clearing every tier underneath it with real trades first, the same climb the shovel and the axe both sit partway along.
The enchantment is fixed the instant he restocks, not the instant you pay, so hunting a better roll means checking other villagers rather than buying from the same one twice. Break his smithing table before your first purchase and he rerolls; do it after, and whatever he gave you is locked for good. How re-rolling works.
The purchase still pays him 30 experience, same as anything else on his sheet, but master is the end of his ladder, so that experience has nowhere left to go.
How long Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe takes in real time
3 pickaxes before his slot locks, and he needs 2 real minutes at his smithing table before it fills again. A Minecraft day is 20 real minutes long and only fits two of those refills, so two full slots is the most any single Toolsmith will ever hand you in a day.
Clear both in a day and the bill lands between 108 and 192 emeralds for 6 pickaxes, the priciest full-day haul of anything he sells. For a player who only wants one good Fortune roll, buying a single pickaxe from several different villagers is cheaper than clearing one villager's slot twice.
Tips for trading Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe
Fund it the way the Toolsmith prefers: he pays an emerald for a single diamond, which is a shorter shopping list than gathering goods for some other trader.
At the top of his ladder, his whole sheet is worth a look on the same visit: coal, stone axe, stone shovel, stone pickaxe, stone hoe and iron ingot.
What the roll on a diamond pickaxe is worth
The enchantment decides most of the value here, and only two of the possible results really change how the tool is used. Fortune multiplies what ore drops, so a Fortune pickaxe pays for itself in diamonds and coal within a session. Silk Touch takes the block itself instead, which is the only way to carry home ice, glass or an ore block in one piece.
Those two never appear together. The game treats them as opposites, so a villager offering one will never hand you both on the same tool, and a player who wants each has to keep two pickaxes. Efficiency and Unbreaking are the ordinary results, useful but not worth paying a premium for when an enchanting table produces them cheaply.
What diamond buys you over iron
Only a diamond or netherite pickaxe will break obsidian, ancient debris or a crying obsidian block at all. Iron simply cannot, however long you swing, so the jump to diamond is not about speed but about which blocks exist for you.
Obsidian is the gate behind that: no diamond pickaxe means no nether portal without a bucket trick, and no enchanting table either, since the table needs obsidian in its recipe.
Netherite upgrades from diamond rather than replacing it, so the pickaxe you buy here is also the base of the last pickaxe you will ever own. Anything you spend on enchanting it carries over.
